An original RHD Cooper ‘S’, built in September 1966 ans sold by Moir & Baxter Ltd of Edinburgh, this exquisite example of a classic Mini was finished in Almond Green coachwork with an Old English White roof, combined with Porcelain Green upholstery and Dove Grey inserts
In addition to the factory standard options it was also fitted with a heater, an auxiliary fuel tank and oil cooler, showing its racing inclinations.
A British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate is on file confirming its original factory specification, engine and registration numbers.
The car was extensively restored some 20 years ago, utilising a new bodyshell (as were many at the time) and fitted with then new period reclining seats. A further restoration was carried out in 2018, at a cost of some £10K, included new floor pans & sills to both sides, a brake system overhaul, new water pump, radiator and hoses.
Post Royston’s acquisition, the car has been fitted a new carpet set, a period Moto Lita steering wheel, replaced worn ball joints, heater valve, head gasket, new choke cable and many other minor elements culminating in a new 12 month MOT for that mechanical peace of mind.
