This incredible example of the Mk2 has been well looked after during its life and has a wonderful history of classic rallying, which explains the long range tank and upgraded interior.
Amongst the plethora of updates this car has received includes: fuel injection, a Tremec T5 gerbox, electric seats and other performance, reliability and comfort ehancing changes.
This Mk2 was built in the UK as a left hand drive model, bound for European sale and was found in Holland prior to its repatriation last year, being used for classic rallying.
This is a very special Mk2. Beyond being well looked after, it was upgraded with air conditioning, electric seats, a long range fuel tank and power steering, for use in its rallying guise. Care has been taken to prevent rust, which has been emminently successful as the chassis shows no sign of it at all, an incredible rarity for an unrestored exammple, servicing has been regular and well performed, leaving a solid and excellently presented car.
When it arrived in the UK the owner wanted to take it further and Hawk Classics were asked to make it more reliable and easier to live with. We suggested and fitted:
